Configuration: rates, users and roles

  • Configuration
    The Configuration group holds the masters that every reservation, folio and report uses, plus the people who may use the system.
  • Rate Type
    A rate type is a named price list for rooms, for example RACK, Corporate, Weekend or Hourly.
  • Rate Type Binding
    Rate Type Binding lets a rate type follow the base (RACK) rate automatically, for example "Corporate = base rate minus 10%".
  • Document Type
    Document types are the kinds of guest documents you can attach to a reservation: passport, driver licence, state ID, credit card.
  • Other Charge Category
    Categories group your other charges (laundry, parking, minibar...) for reports and accounting. Every other charge belongs to one category.
  • Other Charges
    Other charges are the extras you post to a guest folio besides the room rent: food, laundry, parking, telephone, etc.
  • Measurement Unit
    Measurement Unit is a small master list of the units in which an item can be counted: No. (number of pieces), Kg, Litre and so on.
  • Payment Type
    Payment types are the ways a guest can pay on the folio: Cash, Credit Card, Debit Card, Check, Bad Debts and any you add (UPI, wire transfer...).
  • Exchange Rate
    Lets guests pay in a foreign currency. You define each currency and its rate against your base currency.
  • User
    Users are the staff who log in to SunPMS. Every user is stored in the central sign-in system (SunAuth) and linked to this property with a role.
  • Roles & Privileges
    A role is a named set of privileges (what a person may do). Every user gets one role per property. Use this screen to create and rename roles;
  • Assign Transaction Privileges
    Tick which non-report actions each role may perform: system management, navigation, reservations, payments, refunds, other charges, Sales & Channels…
