On this page

| Page | Use |
|---|---|
| Change House Keeping Status | Move rooms between the cleaning states at the desk |
| Room Assignment | Give rooms to housekeeping groups and members |

Housekeepers on the phone
Create a user with the role Housekeeper (Mobile) (how to). The housekeeper signs in on a phone, lands directly on their rooms and never sees the full SunPMS. Supervisors follow the reports they send: Supervisor view.
Who does what
| Who | Does |
|---|---|
| Housekeeping supervisor | Sets room statuses at the desk, assigns rooms to housekeeping groups, prints the housekeeping report, handles reports from the phone (Supervisor view) |
| Front desk | Changes housekeeping status of rooms (vacant status changes may need the privilege "Allow to change vacant room status"), records lost and found items |
| Manager or maintenance | Blocks rooms for repair in Room Maintenance (privilege "Access to Block Room") |
| Housekeeper | Cleans the assigned rooms and, with the mobile module, marks them clean and reports problems from the phone |
Room status meanings
The first letter tells whether the room is occupied (O) or vacant (V); the rest is the cleaning state.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| O/Dirty, O/Clean | Occupied room that still needs cleaning, or has been cleaned |
| V/Dirty | Vacant room that needs cleaning |
| V/Clean | Vacant room cleaned, not yet checked |
| V/Ready | Vacant, clean and ready to be sold or checked in |
| V/Maint, O/Maint | Room blocked for maintenance (see Room Maintenance) |
| R/Ready, V/Booking | Other states offered in the room filters of the assignment screen and the report |
A typical day
- The supervisor opens House Keeping Room Assignment and gives the rooms to the housekeepers of a group (or uses Auto Allocation).
- The housekeepers clean. On the desk, Change House Keeping Status moves rooms from dirty to clean to ready, one by one or in bulk. On the phone, the housekeeper uses the status buttons of Housekeeping Mobile.
- Anything broken is reported from the phone (Report an issue) and followed in My reports; rooms that cannot be sold are blocked in Room Maintenance.
- The supervisor prints the Housekeeping Report for each housekeeper (PDF or Excel).
Lost and found
Items that guests lose or staff find are recorded on the Lost & Found screen: see How do I record a lost or found item?. Housekeepers can also report a lost item from the phone.
Housekeeping Mobile (chapter 23)
The phone module for room attendants: overview and setup, Rooms, Room detail, Chat, Alerts, Troubleshooting.
