DNR Reason
On this page
DNR means "Do Not Rent". When staff mark a guest as DNR (for example after damage or non-payment), they choose one of the reasons from this list. The page title on screen is DNR Reasons; the hub card is DNR Reason.

Before you start
- Nothing. A new property has one reason, Bad Person.
Screen layout
This screen follows the common master layout described in Property Setup (section "Master screens: one pattern"): a header with the back arrow, the title, a one-line explanation and the main button on the right; a Search box and a Columns button above a sortable table; a footer with Total Records, Rows and page buttons; and an add / edit window with Delete (left, only when editing), Cancel and Save. Specific to this screen:
| Element | Meaning | Rules |
|---|---|---|
| Search | By reason text. | |
| New DNR (top right) | Opens the window (Add DNR). The page title is DNR Reasons: "The reasons a room can be marked Do Not Rent." | |
| DNR Details column | The reason. Click it to edit (Edit DNR). | |
| Window section Reason ("Staff pick this reason when they block a room."): Dnr Name | The reason text. | Required, unique. |
| Save, Cancel, Delete | Delete only when editing. |
How to add a reason
- Click New DNR.
- Type the reason in Dnr Name.
- Click Save. Message DNR added successfully. The window stays open for the next reason.
How to edit or delete
Click the reason, change it and Save (DNR updated successfully.) or click Delete and confirm Are you sure want to delete this DNR Details? (DNR deleted successfully.). A deleted reason is no longer offered when marking guests, but guests already marked keep it.
What happens behind the scenes
The reason is stored on the guest's DNR record. When a DNR guest is searched for at reservation or check-in, the reservation screens warn staff (guest rows are highlighted in red).
