The IP whitelist limits where restricted staff can open a property from, for example only from the hotel's internet connection. It is kept per group.

Video walkthrough: IP whitelist | IP whitelist in SunAuth

Before you start

  • You are the owner.
  • Know the public IPv4 address of the hotel's internet connection (ask your provider, or search "what is my IP" from a hotel computer).
  • Staff are restricted only if their user is marked for IP restriction in SunPMS user setup (chapter 03).

Screen layout

The IP WhiteList window:

Field / button What it means Rules
Four boxes separated by dots (placeholder 255) The four parts of the IPv4 address. Digits only, 3 characters each, each at most 255.
Description A note, for example "Front office". Required.
Table IP Address, Description, Action Saved entries. "No record found!" when empty. The bin icon deletes an entry.
Save Adds the address.
Close Closes the window.

How to add an address

  1. On the group card click the three dots, then Create IP WhiteList.
  2. Type the four parts of the address.
  3. Type a Description.
  4. Click Save. Result: a green note "IP Address added successfully." appears at the top right and the entry appears in the table.

How to remove an address

Click the bin icon in the Action column. Result: the note "IP Address deleted successfully." appears and the row disappears. The window is opened from Create IP WhiteList in the group menu, which only the owner has.

The pictures of this page were taken with the save and delete answers simulated, so the demo group's list was not changed.

What happens behind the scenes

  • The check runs when a user opens the property (when the group pass is issued). Only users marked for IP restriction who are not the owner or SunTatva staff are checked.
  • If the group has no addresses in the list, nobody is blocked.
  • If the list has addresses and the user's IP is not among them, access is refused with "Your IP is not allowed to access this property".
  • Addresses must match exactly; ranges are not supported.
