Signing out closes your session and clears the data SunPMS keeps in the browser. Always sign out on shared computers and at the end of a shift.

Before you start

  • Finish what you are doing and save open folios; unsaved work is lost.
  • If your property uses shifts, have your cash counted: the shift-end window opens before you are signed out.

In the landing portal

  1. Click your username at the top right.
  2. Click Sign Out.
  3. A confirmation box asks "Are you sure want to Sign out". Click Yes (or No to stay). Result: saved data is cleared and the login page opens.

In SunPMS

  1. Click your name (or your initial on a narrow window) at the top right to open the account menu. It shows Appearance, Change property, Account (your profile) and Sign Out.
  2. Click Sign Out and answer Yes to "Are you sure you want to Sign out?" (No keeps you signed in).
  3. If Shift Operation is on, the window Shift Details opens first so you can count and close your shift (Shift End Details). Click Shift End to close the shift and sign out. Cancel also signs you out but leaves the shift open.
  4. If Shift Operation is off, or you are on the shift start screen, you are signed out directly. Result: the server is told you logged out, the browser data is cleared and you are taken to the sign-in page of the portal.

What happens behind the scenes

  • Browser storage is cleared and the server is notified of the logout.
  • SunPMS also signs you out by itself when its version changes after an update: you see the login page and must log in again.
  • The portal signs out when it is opened with ?logout=1; SunPMS uses this address after a logout.
  • Signing out of SunPMS does not close your open shift unless you click Shift End.

Tips and FAQ

  • Q: Signing out of SunPMS but not the portal? A:Change Property returns to the portal while keeping you signed in there (Switch property or group).
  • Q: I cannot sign out. A: The shift-end window must be answered first. Click Shift End (to close the shift) or Cancel.
  • Q: I was signed out suddenly. A: SunPMS was updated, or your session expired; log in again.
  • Q: Will my shift be closed if I just close the browser? A: No. The shift stays open until you end it.
