How do I switch chat with linked apps on or off and check the link?

Short answer

Chat button, link icon (Linked apps), click the switch Chat with linked apps. Needs Communication Administration.

Steps

  1. Click the chat button, then the link icon (Linked apps).
  2. Click the switch Chat with linked apps to turn it on or off.
  3. Look at the chips under Linked properties: OK, Unreachable or Refused.
  4. Click Refresh now after changing a link setting.
  5. Use the checkbox Chat with this property to stop chat with one property only.

Check the result

Chat with linked apps is on. or Chat with linked apps is off. The Linked apps tab of New chat appears or disappears for everyone.

Common problems

  • The link icon is missing. You need Communication Administration and the licence Cross-app Chat.
  • Refused. Read the red error: different owner, the other side has the switch off, no licence, or no link on its side.
